My name is Andre’ Strauss and I am an avid offroad motorcyclist with over 40 years of experience. My journey in the world of motorcycling began at the young age of 6 on a Yamaha PW50. I would ride around in our yard and quickly developed a love for the sport.
At 19, I attended a supercross event at Carousal and immediately fell in love with the excitement and adrenaline. I then went and got myself a Kawasaki KDX 200 and began riding socially and even tried my hand at motocross.
I always dreamed of owning a bike shop and having my own racing team, so I eventually opened a Honda franchise dealership. Over time, that became three dealerships and I then created my own racing brand called “Race Nation”. Race Nation fielded teams in several motorcycle racing disciplines including offroad, motocross, supermotard, ATV’s, and superbikes. With my team, I helped more than 10 riders become South African national champions, including Shaun Gunther, Matt Gildenhuys, and Caleb Tenant.
After a 10-year break, I returned to Enduro 18 months ago in Gauteng. I found some great riding buddies and we have been doing technical hard enduro ever since. It’s an amazing discipline and I am dedicating this blog to enduro. I will be adding a gallery to this site with some cool photos.
